NORDIC LAW CLUB OF CHICAGO SPRING SMORGASBORD (Also known as the Annual Codfish Dinner)

Please join the Nordic Law Club of Chicago, as we celebrate springtime with our annual Smorgasbord.  The dinner will include such Scandinavian delights as: Swedish meatballs, herring hors d’oeuvres, rice pudding with lingonberries and, of course, tasty codfish.  Beer and wine and an Aquavit toast will be provided free of charge.

Judge Larsen, a true Scandinavian judge, will address “New Developments in Chancery”, including mediation of e-discovery disputes.  She will also lighten the discussion with a few “fun” facts about law in Scandinavia.

Please send in your reservations and payment today by printing of the downloadable announcement per the instructions in the attachment.  For questions, email Treasurer David G. Clark at  Don’t forget to bring your friends and associates (including non-Scandinavians) to this wonderful event of great food and fellowship.  The restaurant is close to the railroad stations.  There is parking below the restaurant at the OSW garage at 1 S. Lower Wacker Drive, and Wells Street has two surface parking structures.

Annual Probate Night Dinner – 2016

The elegant and easily accessible Chicago Yacht Club will once again be the site of the Nordic Law Club’s annual Probate Night Dinner, through the kind invitation of Chicago Yacht Club member George Pecherek, Esq. As we have for over 85 years, we honor the dedicated judges of the Probate Division. The evening will feature remarks by the Honorable Mary Ellen Coghlan, Presiding Judge of the Division.

A wonderful evening is planned, including the traditional gourmet dinner buffet. We will renew old friendships, make new ones, and actively maintain the good communications that exist between the bench and the bar. Complimentary parking in the Yacht Club’s adjacent 60 car lot will be available.

Reservations are limited in number and have sold out the past few years. Payment must accompany each reservation in order for it to be confirmed. Tickets will be held at the door. Plan now to join us!

Paid reservations must be received by September 21, 2016.

Click here nlc-membership-application for our membership application (encouraged, but not required for the probate night).
